Equality and discrimination employment information – can you help?

Equality and discrimination employment information – can you help?

If you’re a bureau adviser or supervisor with an interest in, or experience of, employment discrimination issues, the Citizens Advice Information Department wants to hear from you.

As part of the Stand up for equality strategy we are aiming to overhaul most of the existing discrimination material on AdviserNet and Adviceguide and we would like you to help us develop and test it. We are now focusing on information about equality and discrimination in employment.

We want to ensure that the content reflects the problems that bureaux are seeing. We also want to make sure that the content is easy to use and helps you to identify cases of discrimination and human rights when interviewing clients.

You will be able to tell us how we can help you give advice in this area – what works and what doesn’t – and to share any ideas you have for improvements.

We need advisers and supervisors who can come to an initial planning workshop in October. You do not need to be an expert in this area. As we produce new content, we’d like to visit you to test it out.

We intend to hold the planning workshop on Friday 11 October in Myddelton House. Reasonable travel expenses will be paid.

If you’re interested in getting involved, please contact Moray Jones at moray.jones@citizensadvice.org.uk.

If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to be involved in later parts of this work, please let us know and we will be in touch as the project progresse
